| Abstract |
Sinology Institute of Leiden University in Netherlands invited me as an exchange professor during the 2003 academic year. This article is one of my study outcomes. In that period, I had visited nearly 60 museums around the country. I found that National Museum of Ethnology and National Museum of Natural History in Leiden City both have collected a lot of Chinese Calligraphy and painting. I have copied those works and studied their creators, the original collectors, the locations of collections, and their contents as well as contexts. Many of them were contributed by the Dutch professor of Sinology, Mr. Johannes Jacob Maria de Groot (1854-1921), as well as the well-known Sinologist, Mr. Robert Hans van Gulik (1910-1967). These scholars had devoted to researching Chinese culture, and both of them also served as the bridge of cultural exchange between the Chinese and the Dutch. This article is a report of field survey. I intend to document the conditions of overseas Chinese ancient artifacts and expect to develop further information for access and reference.
