| Abstract |
〈公劉〉首章「干戈戚揚」一句，歷來學者多從毛《傳》訓釋，視為四種兵器。明代何楷首先糾毛之說，提出揚字應與上文「弓矢斯張」的張字對看，釋為舉義。但是「干戈戚揚」若釋為「揚舉干、戈、戚三種兵器」，這種句法又與「弓矢斯張」略嫌不類，而且是《詩》所罕見的。 因此，拙文試著從訓詁、語法方面討論，「干戈戚揚」與上文「弓矢斯張」應是整齊的對句，並結合歷史、考古等現象說明，戚字在〈公劉〉恐怕不宜視為兵器，而是與「弓矢斯張」的斯字用法相類。最後，並就讀書所得，提出一點淺見，以為「干戈戚揚」或本作「干戈載揚」，也就是揚干戈的意思。
