| Abstract |
Synopsis: This paper is revised on the basis of my doctorate thesis 《General Index of Roots on Oracle-bone Scriptures》. I have added as many new data as possible to the textual research , in order to prove their accuracy and reliability. Besides, I have deleted the prefix of "柵"(Zha；literally translated to "fence") and "斧"(Fu；literally translated to "axe") these two characters. And I have also added another five characters as "?"(lin),"公"(gong；literally translated to "public"),"朮"(Zhu；the name of a herbal medicine),"林"(lin；literally translated to "woods"), and "七"(chi；the number of seven). There are totally 472 roots of oracle-bone scriptures. Plus another three characters with the same form but different meanings, the total sum on oracle-bone scriptures is 475 scriptures,which will provide more complete basis to analyse the Chinese scriptures.
