Abstract |
Qian mu’s Zhu Zi Xin Xue An is widely deemed as a seminal work for studying Zhu Xi. It has abundant citations, makes articulate arguments, and describes the gist of Zhu’s thoughts in painstaking detail. Zhu Zi Xin Xue An devotes much of its literature review to Zhu Zi Wen Ji and Zhu Zi Yu Lei, but some of Qian statements about these two works, such as his dating of texts and letters, should be scrutinized. Taking into account the works that Qian did not date, this paper reviews several other books to ascertain when these works were written, while proposing corrections to some of his statements. |
