Title Literature as Lituraterre: The Literal Littoral in Chen, Lis Poetry
Author Yang, Xiao-bin
Page 79~102
Abstract This essay examines, in light of Lacanian theory of lituraterre, how Chen, Li's poetry establishes a new poetic paradigm with the strategies of smearing and littering in the field of Chinese characters/letters. Chen, Li often undermines the original symbolic construct by his (de)constuctive work on Chinese characters. That is to say, Chen, Li's poetry reveals Lacan's concept of jouissance, and challenges the divine symbols through his development of the traumatic enjoyment.
