Abstract |
Hu Zai’s A Clump of Speech of Tiaoxi Yuyin(《苕溪漁隱叢話》) is one important compilations of speeches on Shi(詩) and Ci(詞)in Sung Dynasty. There are about 226 notes on Ci, and they are valuable heritage of literature from that era. This essay has the following special points: firstly, the harmonious tonality theory of the book; secondly, the aesthetic tendency of the styles in the book; thirdly, the emphasis on the main intent of the content should be with reserve. I hope its will help to position Hu Zai's place in the history of Ci Criticism and the significance of his ideas in the development of South Sung theory of Ci。
