Abstract |
Lossing family and friends is a great loss and pain in life, which was fully depicted in Liu Yi-Ching's "Passage of Sadness for the Dead". This passage provides us with a variety of sadness features for learning to face with death. Sadness comes in many different ways, such as shock, anger, depression, inner guilt, forgetfulness, numbness, etc. People around the world respond to sadness quite similarly; however, sadness is still characteristic of Chinese people in Wei Ching Dynasty. How did Wei Ching scholars and Liu Yi-Ching represent their sadness? These are the focus of this study.
