Wang Po had written a famous poetic preface. In respect of its title, it is well known as Preface in the Terng Wang Tower. It was a preface written by Wang Po at the farewell party in the Terng Wang Tower. The content was nothing to do with the anecdote of the tower. On the other hand, nor was there any preface ever describing a historic place. Therefore, professor Chu Wan-Li suggested entitling it as Preface of a Farewell Party in the Terng Wang Tower. Lo Pin-Wang had written a fine piece of writing, Summons to quell Empress Wu. Similarly, there were different expressions entitled to this excellent work. Since the Dynasty of Sung, there were about thirteen variations in the title. Some of them were inconsistent with the synchronology, and others were irrelevant to the historical events. This Paper is intended to identify those titles in question, and to clarify the most appropriate one as close as possible to the facts.
